What the Planned Parenthood fetal tissue research decision means for Minnesota
The national Planned Parenthood organization has been criticized of late and was even called before Congress after videos circulated this summer that showed Planned Parenthood officials discussing the price of handling fetal tissue after an abortion — tissue that's used for medical research.
Tuesday morning, Planned Parenthood's national president said they would no longer take reimbursements for procuring fetal tissue that's used in research.
Sarah Stoesz is the president of Planned Parenthood of Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota. She was involved in the discussions that led to that decision and she told MPR News with Tom Weber about how they came to that conclusion.
